| Rob Mathews:
Do
you feel like in the last few games that you have started to hit a comfort
level with your role on the floor as a freshman? |
| Peyton
Stovall: Definitely. Coach tells
me and Skip (Mills) that we are not freshmen anymore, so we should be playing
like upper classmen. I don’t want
to be treated like that, like a freshman. I’ve definitely
felt a lot more comfortable these last few games.
I just hope to come out and play well.
I don’t want to play like a freshman in the tournament. |
|
| Rob Mathews:
What
have the upper classmen said to you about a late-season run and this time
heading into the conference tournament? |
| Peyton
Stovall: They’ve
definitely told me that this is the most important part of the season. I’ve told
them more than they’ve told me – that I want to send those seniors out
the right way, because they, REO and Cam, they deserve it. They’ve
worked hard. I want to play hard for them, and hopefully when I’m a senior
the freshmen will play hard for me. |
|
| Rob Mathews:
What
has made you look for opportunities to score a little more? |
| Peyton
Stovall: I think I’m being a little more aggressive
than I was at the beginning of the year. That
goes a lot with the comfort zone and trying to get to the basket as much as
possible. It’s not as much trying
to shoot the ball, but if I get to the basket, get in the lane, I have the
option to score or to kick it out. So
that really helps me and my teammates out. |
|
| Rob Mathews:
What
would you say is the biggest thing you’ve learned in this your first year
of college basketball? |
| Peyton
Stovall: The
biggest thing I’ve learned this year is that you can never give up, because,
you know, you go through a lot of hard times and adversity and you can give
up. You have to keep going no matter
what, no matter how far you’re down. You
have to keep on and get back up. |
|
| Rob Mathews:
Peyton,
thank you and good luck the rest of the way. |
| Peyton
Stovall: Thank
you. |
