Dennis Trammell - Out For The Remainder Of The Season (03/01/2005)

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Senior Dennis Trammell (Chicago, Ill./Westinghouse H.S.) will miss the remainder of the 2005 Ball State Basketball season due to severe tendinitis in his left Achilles.  A full recovery is expected with rest, rehabilitation and treatment.
“Dennis is the heart and soul of our team,” says BSU head coach Tim Buckley.  “We are extremely disappointed for him, however his health and future is most important.  Time is the major ingredient in his recovery.”
In 23 games played this season, Trammell was second on the team with 15.9 points per game.  He was shooting 46 percent from the field, 48 percent from three-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line.  Trammell posted his fifth 20-plus scoring game of the year Feb. 16 at Bowling Green.  He has paced the Cardinals in scoring eight times this season and in 16 games in his career.
In addition, Trammell scored in double figures in 20 games this season and in 40 of a possible 51 games in his career at Ball State.  He was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week earlier this season, plus poured in a career high 38 points against Marshall Feb. 6.  He drilled a Ball State and Worthen Arena record eight three-point field goals in that game, plus currently ranks ninth on BSU’s single-season chart for three-point field goals in a season with 59.

Cardinals will travel to Bowling Green on Monday for the MAC Tournament first round. 7:00P.M. tip-off. Winner gets Quarter Final match-up with #1 seed Miami on Thursday. You can bet Miami will be rooting for Bowling Green.
