MUNCIE, Ind. -- Senior Dennis Trammell, who was earlier named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-America Third Team, was selected as the team's Most Valuable Player of the 2004-05 season Sunday afternoon at the program's annual honors banquet at Delaware Country Club.
The MVP selection marks the second straight season for Trammell, who graduated from BSU in December, to win the team's coveted honor. 
In 23 games played this season, Trammell was second on the team with 15.9 points per game. He was shooting 46 percent from the field, 48 percent from three-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line. Trammell posted his fifth 20-plus scoring game of the year Feb. 16 at Bowling Green. He has paced the Cardinals in scoring eight times this season and in 16 games in his career.
In addition, Trammell scored in double figures in 20 games this season and in 40 of a possible 51 games in his career at Ball State. He was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week earlier this season, plus poured in a career high 38 points against Marshall Feb. 6. He drilled a Ball State and Worthen Arena record eight three-point field goals in that game, plus ranks ninth on BSU's single-season` chart for three-point field goals in a season with 59.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Jesse McClung (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North H.S.) has announced he will transfer from the Ball State men’s basketball program, according to head coach Tim Buckley.
“Jesse is expected to graduate and he his looking for a situation that will allow him more playing time,” Buckley said.  “As a staff, we are going to try and help him find that situation.”
McClung played in 17 games for the Cardinals this past season, averaging 6.4 minutes per contest.  McClung, who played at Barton County College in 2001-02 and was redshirted at Ball State in 2002-03, played in 28 games with one start during the 2003-04 season for the Cardinals.
