| MUNCIE,
Ind. -- Micah Rollin
a 6-foot-10, 260-lb. center, has signed a National Letter of
Intent to attend Ball State University and compete for the
men’s basketball program, according to first-year head coach
Ronny Thompson. |
| Rollin,
a junior college transfer who was a sophomore at the College of
Southern Idaho, was recruited by both Fresno State and Ohio
State, before choosing to continue his college basketball career
at Ball State. Rollin is a native of Long Beach, Calif. |
| “I
am extremely excited Micah has decided to join our program at
Ball State,” Thompson said. “Anyone who has the presence he
has will be a huge asset to our team and our league. Micah
can catch, score and finish. He’s only been playing
organized basketball for one year, but he has the things you
can’t teach. I am also excited about his potential,
because we can teach and instruct those other areas.” |
| At Southern Idaho
last season, where he was slowed by a foot injury in 2004-05,
Rollin played in 28 games with three starts for a team which
posted a 24-8 overall record and finished first in conference
play with a 13-5 mark. |
| Rollin
becomes the first recruit signed to play at Ball State for Ronny
Thompson, who was named BSU’s head coach April 4. |
