Anderson Ravens (4-2) at Ball State Cardinals (2-2)
December 8, 2004 7:00PM - Worthen Arena - Muncie, Indiana
  • The school that has become Anderson University was founded by the Church of God in 1917.

  • Before 1937 Anderson's basketball team (which was Anderson's only sport at the time) was known as the Tigers. The name "Ravens" was chosen in a local contest to replace "Tigers" over a second choice "Parsons" for biblical reasons and because Ravens are aggressive.

  • Anderson competes in NCAA Division III.

  • Anderson has a whopping 22 players on it's roster, but only 16 have appeared in games. Ball State and other NCAA Division I teams are only allowed to have 13 players on their rosters.

  • Historically, Anderson and Ball State have met 11 times with Ball State leading the all time series 10 games to 1. Anderson's victory came in the 1958 season when they won 63-62 on a neutral court.

  • Ball State won last season's meeting with Anderson 83-48. Terrance Chapman had 13 points and 9 rebounds for the Cardinals.

  • The Anderson vs. Ball State game is WMDH Toy Drive Night at Worthen Arena. People can get into the game free of charge with the donation of a new toy. Also, Steak and Shake Schedule Magnets will be given to the first 1000 in attendance.
