  • This will be the 67th meeting between Ball State and Kent State. Ball State leads the all time series 37-29. Kent has not won in Muncie since 1998 when they beat the Cardinals 73-60.

  • Kent State has the most wins (121) of any MAC school over the last five years. Ball State is second, thirty games back.

  • Ball State is 6-8 all time in games played on January 2nd. The last time Ball State played on January 2nd was in 2002 when Ball State was beaten by Kent State in Kent 81-54.

  • From the strange but true file: Kent State played at Old Dominion, which is in Corpus Christi Texas on November 22nd. Then they played in the opening round of Old Dominion's Corpus Christi Caller-Times Challenge against Texas A&M Corpus Christi on November 24th, but the game was in Kent, Ohio. After the game against Texas A&M CC, Kent State flew back to Corpus Christi and played Florida State and Shawnee State. At this point of the season, Kent State has played as many games in Corpus Christi as they have in Kent.
