FROM BALL STATE ATHLETICS COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Blair Kramer (Maumee, Ohio/St. John’s Jesuit H.S.), a senior defensive end on the Ball State University football team, and junior offensive lineman Justin Schneider (Hilbert, Wis./Hilbert H.S.), have both been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Football Team. This marks the second straight season both Kramer and Schneider have been selected by the league’s faculty athletic representatives.
Kramer, who was named the recipient of the 2005 John Magnabosco Award as the Cardinals’ most valuable player, was also an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Five selection and an All-MAC second-team choice. Kramer started 10 games for the Cardinals this season, and led the team with 13 tackles for loss and a team-high five sacks. He ranks sixth in the MAC in tackles for loss. Kramer had a career-high seven tackles at Eastern Michigan, and managed a career-best three tackles for loss in the season finale vs. Central Michigan. Kramer played in all but one game in his four-year career, and started 21 of the final 22 games in his career. Kramer, who also received Ball State’s Academic Award this year, was selected by his teammates as a co-recipient of the Captains Award. Kramer is a finance major with a 3.55 grade-point average on Ball State’s 4.0 scale.
Schneider started the final 10 games of the season. He started three games at right guard, two games at left tackle and five games at right tackle, while anchoring a line that helped block for an offense that tallied 1,676 yards rushing and passed for 2,079 yards. Schneider helped protect Ball State quarterback Joey Lynch, who set a BSU single-season record with 18 touchdown passes. Schneider started all 11 games as a sophomore and six games as a freshman, and was named Ball State’s Bill Meitzler Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year award in 2002 while sitting out the season as a redshirt. Schneider owns a 3.66 grade-point average on Ball State’s 4.0 scale as a physical education major.
