Brian Jackson Named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week (10/30/2006)

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Brian Jackson (Dothan, Ala./Northview H.S.), a senior placekicker on the Ball State University football team, has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week.
Jackson made field goals of 37 and 50 yards to help the Cardinals to a 20-17 win at Miami University Saturday. His 50-yard field goal pulled Ball State within 17-13 with 7:02 remaining in the contest. In addition, Jackson kicked two extra points to give him 103 in his career, which ties the Ball State career mark.

This marks the second time in his career Jackson has received the weekly honor. Jackson also received the honor Oct. 5, 2005.

Ball State improved to 3-6 overall and 3-3 in the MAC with the win at Miami University. The Cardinals will travel to the nation’s second-ranked Michigan Wolverines Saturday in a Noon kickoff game to be televised on ESPNU.
