Players Earn Academic All-MAC Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Justin Schneider
(Hilbert, Wis./Hilbert H.S.), a senior offensive
lineman for the Ball State University football team, and Jason
Sieman (Katy, Texas/Taylor H.S.), a senior linebacker
for the Cardinals, have been named to the Academic
All-Mid-American Conference Football Team, which is
selected by the league’s faculty athletic
representatives.

| Schneider
was recognized by the MAC for a third straight time on the
academic all-conference squad, while Sieman
received the honor for the first time in his career. |
|
Schneider,
a physical education major with a 3.73 grade-point average
on Ball State’s 4.0 scale, started all 12 games this
season at left tackle. He started the final 22 consecutive
games of his career and 33 games in the last three
seasons. Schneider started four games at left guard
and four at right guard in 2005, while helping to block
for a 2005 offense that tallied 2,079 passing yards and
threw for a then school record 18 touchdowns. In 2006, he
blocked for an offense that shattered the school record
for touchdown passes in a season with 27, and helped
protect two quarterbacks who set a school record with
3,112 passing yards. |

Sieman, who was also named
to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Five
Football Team which is selected by the College Sports
Information Directors of America, is an accounting major
with a 3.49 GPA. |
| Sieman
appeared in all 12 games for the Cardinals this season and
started six contests at linebacker. He was fifth on the
team in tackles with 53 plus had 10 tackles for loss. Sieman
had a career high 12 tackles against Boston College in
2004, and posted a season high 10 tackles vs. Northern
Illinois this season. |
