Brian Jackson Added to Academic All-MAC Honorees (12/11/2006)

MUNCIE , Ind. -- Brian Jackson ( Dothan , Ala. /Northview H.S.), a senior placekicker on the Ball State University football team, has been added to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Football Team, according to the conference office.
An error on the first release accidentally omitted Brian Jackson from the squad.
Jackson, who was named the MAC Special Teams Player of the Year, led the conference with an 89.5 percent field goal percentage, led the MAC with a 97.4 percent mark on extra points and was second in the league with 17 field goals. He made 17-of-19 field goals and 37-of-38 extra points. His 111 career extra points set a new BSU record, while his 49 career field goals is the third best total in the Cardinals’ record books. Jackson, who was a co-recipient of Ball State ’s Bill Reynolds Special Teams Player of the Year Award, owns a 3.27 grade-point average on Ball State ’s 4.0 scale as an earth science major.
He is joined on the Academic All-MAC team by Justin Schneider ( Hilbert , Wis. /Hilbert H.S.), a senior offensive lineman, and Jason Sieman (Katy, Texas/Taylor H.S.), a senior linebacker for the Cardinals. The Academic All-MAC team is selected by the league’s faculty athletic representatives.
