D.J. Welte Named Ball State’s Video and Technology Coordinator (04/10/2007)

MUNCIE, Ind. -- D.J. Welte, a 2005 graduate of Arkansas State, has been named Ball State University’s video and technology coordinator, according to Ball State athletics director Tom Collins.
“We are very excited to have D.J. join the Ball State family,” Ball State head football coach Brady Hoke says. “He is very talented, and will be a vital part of our program as the video aspect of college football continues to develop.”
Welte spent the 2006 season as the video coordinator at Louisiana Tech where he was responsible for all aspects of the department, including filming practices and games, breaking down game film and handling the team’s film exchange.
Prior to his position at Louisiana Tech, Welte spent the 2005 season as the video coordinator at Arkansas State after earning his bachelor’s degree in communication from ASU in 2005. As a student at Arkansas State, Welte served as the student video coordinator for the football team plus worked as a student assistant for Arkansas State-TV for two years. In addition, as an undergraduate, Welte shot game footage and produced highlight videos for the Arkansas State women’s basketball team for two years.
Welte is married to the former Elaine Guenther of Little Rock, Ark.
