| What a great
weekend! Obviously,
we were pleased to leave the Seton Hall tournament as
champions, but this weekend was about more than just
winning two basketball games.
It was a measuring stick of where we stand, a
confidence booster, and an all-around fabulous bonding
experience. On
the court, I was very pleased with our performance.
Every player on our team got to see playing time
and got on the scoreboard in our win against Wagner on
Friday night. Freshman
Julie DeMuth played awesome, and I think everyone feeds
off her energy! On
Saturday, I thought we did a nice job and won a close game
against a very athletic Seton Hall team.
We still have plenty of things to work on, but I
feel good about where we are at the point in the year with
such a young team. I was especially pumped to head out to
New York
, because I am moving there in July 2005 to enter the
workforce of the daunting “real world”.
On Friday, in between morning shoot around and
departure for our night game, I visited Citigroup and had
lunch and meetings with future colleagues.
It finally hit me that I will actually be moving to
New York
as I found myself looking for apartments and figuring out
the subway! I
have officially declared myself in love with
New York City
. Plus, our
whole team enjoyed the
New York
experience. On
Thursday, we visited
Greenich
Village
for dinner and then toured Ground Zero.
I have been there several times but it never ceases
to be an emotional sight to see.
We also spent Saturday night in
Times Square
. We went to
the Broadway production of “Lion King”.
It is definitely safe to say our whole team loved
it! Since I
am the only player over 21, we just headed back to the
hotel after the show.
It turned out to be a very fun night of team
bonding! Then
we flew back very
early on Sunday in time to unpack and get ready for the
week. Now,
it’s two practices and then off to Cincy! Let the road
trips begin….

| Ball
State Women’s Basketball player Kate Endress
is kind enough to share a weekly journal with
GoBSU.com readers. Kate, a senior from
Evansville (Evansville Memorial H.S.), was named
to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team last
season as well as being first team All-MAC. Kate
is a likely candidate for MAC Player Of The Year
this season, as well as all the academic awards
she will undoubtedly receive. It is a very special
treat to have Kate share this journal with us.
Thank you Kate! |
