| Last week went
from bad to worse, starting off with the tragic news of
Amy Fuller’s, an ex-teammate, death in an automobile
accident and ending with two loses on the road.
It was not a good week!
Coach Roller gave us Sunday and Monday off to
absorb last week’s happenings and give us time to
refocus and get back on track.
Saturday’s loss to
Indiana
State
was particularly hard to swallow, personally, due to the
fact that I once again found myself in foul trouble and
didn’t shoot well from the floor.
The past two days off have made me realize that as
a senior captain, it’s time for me to step up and be
accountable for my play.
I firmly believe that we are a very talented
basketball team who is just, quite frankly, not playing to
the best of our ability right now.
We are plagued by stupid mental errors which are in
our control. The
great thing about basketball is that during season you
only have to wait a few days before it’s time for the
next game, the next competition, and the next chance to
prove yourself. I
am excited to hit the road again this week as we head to
St. Louis
for a game Friday night and then straight to my hometown,
Evansville
,
IN
, for a game on Sunday.
This is my first chance to play at home since high
school, and I have tons of friends and family coming to
the game. Needless
to say, I’m pumped.
But more than just homecoming, I am excited for our
team to take the floor again and prove once more that,
despite setbacks and obstacles, we are winners.

State Women’s Basketball player Kate Endress
is kind enough to share a weekly journal with
GoBSU.com readers. Kate, a senior from
Evansville (Evansville Memorial H.S.), was named
to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team last
season as well as being first team All-MAC. Kate
is a likely candidate for MAC Player Of The Year
this season, as well as all the academic awards
she will undoubtedly receive. It is a very special
treat to have Kate share this journal with us.
Thank you Kate! |
